About the author

Cathy Canniere owns a travel agency, Changez d'Éire, which organises tours around Ireland. She chose to use her maiden name, Canniere, as a pen name. Born in Armentières, in the north of France, she has always been fascinated by Ireland and has gained much more interest in the country over the years. At the age of 12, her life changes as she hears a song in the U2 movie: Rattle and Hum. That song is “Van Diemen’s Land”. She sees Dublin and falls in love with the city and it’s at that time that she decides this is where she is going to live one day.

After studying hard and receiving her Leaving Certificate, she decides to take the plunge at the age of 20, following two tragic events that will forever change her life. After a few trials, she will eventually settle there definitely with her future family. Forever passionate about crime novels, unable to stop imagining scenarios and a great admirer of Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, Maigret and Sherlock Holmes, she is inspired by members of her family, people she met during her childhood and, over the years, brings her characters from the north of France and elsewhere in the Dublin 50’s. Although she has lived in her adopted country for almost 20 years, she has never forgotten her roots.

When she is not glued to her computer screen writing crime novels or organising tours of Ireland, she spends time cooking, walking or better still, being walked by her dog or watching police crime series on TV. She is currently working on her second novel, which will be in the same spirit as the first; Caorach already available atEdilivre.
